What broke (non thirdgen)
ok on my 79 jeep cj7, i just replaced the axles. Now when i turn one wheel the other one doesnt turn. What would the problem be? brokem spider gear? I know, I know open it up and look, this just happend and I cant work on it any later cause my parents go to be. Im gonna open it back up tommorow, I was just wondering if anyone knew offhand. btw its an open diff

If it's an open diff, turning one wheel may be turning the driveshaft while the other wheel remains stationary. If it runs and drives and not making any noises (which it must be for you to suspect something) I would call it normal.
