another t-5 question
another t-5 question
hello i have read alot of everyones articles on here and have found alot of answers. i have a 83z28 with a 400 sbc, now i have two t-5's both v-6 t-5's. i wanted to know if a clutch disc from a 4.3 will work for the v-6 tranny to my sb400. i know i have to get a bell housing ect. i just was wondering about the clutch. and has anyone ever put a 400 in a camaro with a stick. i was thinking about puting 2.73 gears in my car to help with the gear ratio of the tranny. my gear right now is a 3.23 any info would help thank u.

The clutch should go in without a problem. I know when you ask for parts, there's no specific v6 or v8 one. But, those v6 trannies might be geared too low for the v8. Also, are you kinda worried about breakin those things? How much power you putting out?

well right now the motor is stock and i found out it puts about 180 hp or so. so i am not woried about having too much power for the tranny. i am starting a build up project. my goal is to build a car that will run in the silver stat challenge and compete well over 200. so a six speed is after the t-5 and a good strong built 406.
