4thgen rear guys...ebrake question

OK guys, I finished the rear swap along time ago. I have newly turned rotors, clean calipers, new bolts and pads, guide bolts and boots, stuff like that. I was under the car and just remembered I forgot to install the cables to the e-brake cable equalizer thingy (?) above the driveshaft. I still have the cables running through the little guide loops that bolt onto the differential cover...they don't quite reach. Should I bypass these or should I adjust that cable equalizer out? I was told I could do this with 3rdgen brackets and I'd rather do that...so how did you guys run you ebrake cables? Mine's a '95 Z28 rear, Torsen posi, 3.42 gears, differential cover/girdle, and soon Moser axleshafts. Tubes have been welded (if that makes a difference). Thanks for your help...the tech article didn't quite explain that part in-depth...

I got my cables to work with the ear-style holders on the diff cover. I adjusted the bracket above the d/s back about an inch and bent the parts open where the old third gen cables ran and than pushed the fourth gen cables in the bigger openings. I than popped the ends of the cables onto the bracket and used a hammer and a punch to form the rear of the bracket around the thick outer sheath part of the fourth gen cables to hold them in place. My e-brake works great and it is adjusted pretty much perfect - 0 drag on the brakes with a little to spare.
