HELP! T56 oil fill

My son just bought a 98 Z-28, 6-speed. It's the first time for this tranny for either of us. He's changing the fluid right now, but having a hard time trying to get fluid back into it! There's not enough room to tip a regular bottle up high enough, and some of the other things we've tried just arn't working. Any suggestions?!

Re: HELP! T56 oil fill

Forget the filling through the fill hole. Take the shifter out (4 bolts) and pour it in there.

Re: HELP! T56 oil fill

Thanks. We found a small hand pump at Advance Auto that screws into a quart bottle. I'll keep the shifter in mind for next time.

Re: HELP! T56 oil fill

I attached a rubber hose to the end of a funnel and ran that down the shift boot into the fill hole and filled it from the inside of the car. Let gravity do the work
