clutch slave leaking
Hi all. I hope all you "real mechanic" types aren't getting too sick of me yet. First the good news. I got my tranny back together allright. I guess when I was first trying to get the top cover off I kind of pried the reverse/fifth linkage over and got it jammed. Now the bad news. It looks as if someone (previous owner) had been doing some work on this thing, the little bolt on the slave cylinder (where you bleed it) is broken off. Worse yet, when I took it off to get the tranny off the nuts that are attached to the case of the slave broke off too. When I put it back in place, and pushed the pedal, fluid pissed out from around the rubber boot. I guess my question is, do I have to replace the whole slave assembly? Or is there some way to salvage it? Any suggestions are welcome, feel free to e-mail me. Thanks

I doubt the screw was broken because IIRC it's an allen bolt that's more like a setscrew (sunken into the plastic housing). I could be wrong on that though as it's been a while since I messed with mine.
It sounds like you're gonna need a new slave cylinder though. They're really not rebuildable to my knowledge.

Well, they are rebuildable (they have a separate steel sleave inside, a piston with a seal, o-rings slealing the ends, a big spring and a retaining ring and spacers), but the parts are unavailable, it's a PITA to get everythign to fit inside, and would cost more then just getting a new one, which is what you should do...
