Shifter is messed up after car got towed. Need help.

This is for my automatic 92RS. It has been towed because i had no plates on it and when they were towing it they lifted the car up and disconnected something near the transmission in order to put it in neutral. When i got my car back, the Park on the shifter is now Reverse, Reverse is now neutral, Neutral is now Drive and so on. Basically its off by one notch. They wouldn't even fix it for me while i was there. I've never messed with auto trannys before, so what am i looking for underneath the car in order to fix this problem? thanks.

Get it up on ramps or stands. There is a cable going to the tranny and it bolts to a bracket. Loosen the bolt, put your shifter in park, then click the bracket on the tranny to park and tighten it back up. Your done in 5 minutes.
