is there one and where is it
i cant seem to find anything like that on the drivers side tranny. where is it. could that cause poor shifting. cuz it shifts kinda hard. sometimes to the point where u get whiplash

No, there is no vacuum line on the th700r4. Sounds like your TV cable is not properly set.
The way I use to set mine is; locate your throttle cables, carb or tpi, one is obviously your engine throttle an the other bigger one is you Throttle Valve(TV) cable. On the TV cable there will be a plastic housing with a half round metal part visible. Push that metal part in, it maybe hard, and then push the forward part of the cable towards the rear of the car. Then you adjust your TV cable by pushing you throttle pedal all the way to the floor, this will feel much harder than normal. What you are doing is pulling the throttle out of the housing. That metal piece is spring loaded. Even after that I usually pulled it out a couple more notches because the cable brackets flex alot. Therefore the cable would not pull out enough. Take it for a test drive, normally the further out the cable is the softer the shift, and vise versa.
