My '82 Z has a 2.73 gear REALLY blows hard for any accel( then again not like the 82 even has any in the 1st place) anyrate can I pull say a 4.10 gear out of say a 4cyl S10 and slap it into my car or will it not fit or something??? I figure if I put in a 4spd auto that should help cut the RPMs down a bit to keep it more driveable.

 

The ring and pinion out of a similiar year s-10 should work, you will need the differential out of it also or get a limited slip differential for the gear ratio you plan to use.
