Torque Converter?

What stall speed would help a stock 305 with a 700R4 tranny. Where would you get a torque converter for under $400.

I would think you might be alright with a 2000-2200 stall, but I could be wrong. Look at either www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com

I can get you a A.C.T. torque converter for $545.00. It is a 9.5" lockup with any stall you like/want/need from 2,400-3,600. It comes with a one year warranty and a free stall change if desired. This torque converter is virtually identical to the "Vigilante". If you do not need a lockup TC then the Continental 10" for $439.00 with stalls from 2,200-3,000 might be what you want/need. It comes with a one year warranty also. Let me know if I can be of help?

the size of your tires would help.. fatter tires and you can go (and softer tires) higher with the stall. 2500 is pretty good for street use, i find.

Stock 305? Use GM #24202310 if you have a 30 spline (late '84-up). It is @$200 and is rated at 2025 but will go to 21-2200 with engine mods and is top quality.
