shift point question

I have an 85 trans-am with a built 700R4. I currently only have a LG4, but am building a 350 tpi to put in it. I was wondering how you change the shift points. When I put that engine in there I dont really want it to be optimized for the LG4s power curve. I would probably have one of my friends do it but I just wanted to know. If it is simple enough I thought I might attempt it myself. Thanks for all of your help. I am looking forward to your replys.

To change shift points you must modify the governor. Install lighter inner weights or make your inner weights lighter by grinding some material off. lighter weights will make WOT and shifts over 40 mph later, heavier weights will make them earlier. Changing to lighter springs will make shifts below 40 mph later, stronger springs will make them earlier.
