i gave n 83 trans am with the q jet is it the 700r4 tranny in that yr? if not what is it

It probably is a 700r4, but 200c's might have been used...
Best way is to kneel down and look under there. If the pan is square it's a 700r4
If it's shaped like a porkchop, it's a 200c
