Speedo gear and rear gear swap...

I just had 3:73s installed in my 88 formula and I havent changed the speedo gears yet. Is this going to adversely affect performance or is my speedo just going to be off? I heard somewhere that it could affect how the engine runs and/or produces power but I think its B/S. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.

The only bad thing is the speedo being off and thus, when the TCC locks and a few other minor things. If your EEPROM has Highway Mode enabled in it, that will also be affected as it looks at speed for when to apply. No engine power related issues will result from this; only little things that use the VSS input for when to 'happen'.

Hmm... maybe thats why my converter locks immediately when I shift into od. No matter how hard I'm on the gas it will lock no matter what as soon as I shift. then it shifts into od.
