what should I do!?

ok right now I've got a 700r in my 82 camaro.
I want to put a TC in it, 2500-3000 stall but I don't expect the trans to last very long, so these are my thoughts.

Plan 1; get a cheap throw away converter and run it until the trans lets go and purchase a different transmission, like the 200-4R or a T56

Plan 2; get a quality converter for big $$$ and spend more $$ on trans rebuild and have a very reliable 700r for my possible nitrous runs. or puchase a built 700r when current one kwangs.

plan 3: forget about spending any money on the 700r and purchase a T56 and convert to manual.

does anyone have any thoughts on this?
the car will remain a street car, and (hopefully) get lots of track time in. i also plan some suspension work for max traction and eventually running AFR heads with nitrous.

i'd go with a preformance built auto with a good quality converter. if you want to run low gears the od feature makes the 700r4 attractive. the manual trans will never give you good or consistant 60' times or ets.
