i have a 92 z-28 with a 305 and automatic transmission. if i get better performing gears like 3:73 how will this affect the car. will if ruin it's driveablity (it's a street car)and how high will the rpms be on the highway at 60 or 70? is it worth it for the performance gain?

Most people will say 3:73s are too low of a gear for TPI. If you want drivability go with 3:42 these are the best all around gears. Right now I have 3:73s and at 55mph with 25in. tires I tach 2k rpm. It's kind of annoying driving to college and home on some weekends a 200 mile trip taching no more than 2500 rpm. I haven't noticed a decrease in my mpg though and that's going from 2:73s. However, if you change gears your speedo will be off also affecting your odometer.
