OK I want to get ride of the peg leg in my 89 RS. I dont really know where I want to go though. Right now I roll 85 at 2000 RPMs (dont worry I dont speed....umm I got that on the Dyno hehehe) and that is great when I do the Drive from Trenton NJ to Rochester NY. I have been gettin 29 miles per gallon. Well Like I said I want a posi, but I dont know what ratio I want. i would like to keep some high mileage per galloon, dont really want to drop down below 25 MPG. but I just dont know. I was thinkin about a 3:73 at first, but when I did the math I go 2400 RPMs at 74 Mph. I dont really like that number. The 3:42 was alittle better. Can anyone give me a heads up as to which would be better for me, one of those or is there another ratio I am missing. Take a look at my Mods and see whut you think. Also I am soon to have a TB with all the mods done to it. Thanks guys

I get about 72mph @ 2000rpm's with whats in my sig. Jury is out on the mileage for now.

It's sooooooo hard to keep my foot off the pedal with the improved acceleration I get.

Go with 3.42s. They are a much more street friendly ratio and work very well with a TH700R4 as an overall package..... 3.73s are fine if your engine will pull a decent amount of high rpm power and is mainly a track car........

EDIT: Also, my car registers about 68mph @ 2000rpm in 4th gear with the converter locked, with my 3.42s and TH700R4. Some variances will be present from car to car due to the common slight inaccuracy of factory gauges.................

If you do any highway driving, 3.42's... The ultimate ratio.

If you'r only going to use it for city trips 3.73's.

As a side note, I drove my car to the track (150mi) on the interstate and torched a whole tank of 94. Avg speed 65 mph, 3,xxx rpm all the way. I got 3 runs and back.

Thats 4:10's...
