non-3rd gen problem
my 1986 ford tempo wouldn't move in drive or any other gear but car can be started. when stepping on the gas car doesn't moves. rattling sound underneath can be heard when putting it back into park position. what could be the problem? car is used for delivering pizzas, hopefully won't get my irocz to do its job when friday comes. thanks.

Sounds like the output part (final drive) of the transaxle is blown out....
Kinda like having the driveshaft disconnected in a camaro, you'll hear the park pawl try grabbing.
It could also be in the half-shafts/cv joints, but they usually would be pretty noticeable if broke.
