fluid combo in tranny

I'm finally getting around to getting my tranny done, it is finally in the car are ready to do, but no fluid. I had all the normal stuff - rebuild, transgo stuff and vigilante also. I need fluid now, I cannot find crap for synthetic in my area, other than 6 quarts of mobil 1. I want to use that and add either type F or Dexron. What do you guys think of these alternatives ?? Thanks and later.

See if you can locate an Amsoil dealer, you will find him in the white pages. Otherwise get the non-synthetic Mobil Dexron III at your local K-Mart for about $1.80 a quart. It comes in a blue container. This is a very good fluid, stay away from the type "F" fluid it will ruin the transmission.

ProBuilt, what do you think about the semi-synthetic trans fluid? I put a few quarts of the Valvoline Durablend Dexron-III in on my last fluid change... I figured it couldn't hurt- could it?

Probuilt, my K-mart does not have the dexron you mentioned, I checked today. My tranny shop is calling his amsoil supplier right now so I'll probably have that tomorrow morning. My other option is the local GM dealer, they have gm synthetic for the measly sum of 18.00 per quart !!!

I use Mobil synthetic ATF, it works great!! I even put it in my wife's Sentra SER, it actually shifts better, the car has less than 20,000 miles on it. It works great in my Camaro too.....
