Did I break my shifter?
I've got an automatic, first off.. today when I pulled into my parking lot coming home from work, it started.. it feels really soft, kinda feels like I'm stirring jello or something with my shifter.. here's an example of what it's doing.. when I have it in reverse, and pull it back to put it in OD, it doesn't click or anything, and doesn't even shift.. it just has a slight resistance (which is why I made the jello comment) all the way down to where OD is.. now if I put it into D, 2 or 1, it'll shift into gear, and then I can put it into OD..
it actually started acting up a few weeks ago.. it feels kinda like the shift-stops (where it clicks and stays in the gear) have moved slightly or something.. I don't know exactly how the shifters are built, but, that's the best description I can think of... like, say I've got it in 1st, shift up to 2nd, well, the shifter itself will kinda get stuck right before it goes into the gear, keeping the tranny in 1st, but if I push up more it'll go in fine (but it's locked out of 1st unless I push the button still) ... it does this in all the gears.. or at least it used to before tonight..
I hope this stuff makes at least a little sense.. anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Hey, this sounds like a good excuse for installing the B&M Megashifter! The stock shifter is really wimpy looking after looking at the Megashifter.
