tranny problems

so im not sure what type of transmission i have but its a 4 speed auto. and it goes with my 305. i was going uphill on the highway flying around 130 km/h and this is 300km into my road trip. all of a sudden the rpm rises and speed drops. now! this is what the car CAN do it WILL go into park, reverse, nuteral, and drive. it CAN ONLY drive in 1'st gear, and the tranny will kick back when u floor it giving u acceleration. it WILL NOT go past first gear in drive. if you put it into over drive the car will coast along the road and if u drop it into 1'st the car will down shift and slow u down. but wont upshift. what the f- is wrong?

Re: tranny problems

your trans is a TH700R4

and it took a big dump

rebuild time, and while you are at it upgrade the heck out of that trans, you can do some performace upgrades to the 700r4 and make it alot better trans, i got mine all hopped up and love it, it catches rubber going into 2nd like crazy

TCI makes a good 700r4, i dont know how much a performance rebuild would actually cost at a shop......i had "connections" but i know mine is built real good
