transgo shift kit

I'm going to be putting in a transgo shift kit in my 700r4 and I also want to do a TCI manual valve body so I can shift manually. But the transgo shift kit says you can have full manual control. So is there a need for the manual valve body.

The last transgo kit I installed, the 2&3 reprogramming kit had an option to convert it to full manual so that should be all you need.

You cannot mix the two kits or valve bodies. If you want the best success use the Trans-Go only. Make sure you install the boost valves & (hi-rev spring kit if you have the trans out), & Corvette servo. I would go with the automatic setup, as you can still manually shift it at hi rpm's (override the governor), but have the automatic features when driving around town.

If the governor says to make the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 WOT shift at 4,800 rpm and you want it to go to 5,500 rpm you can hold the lever in that gear to that 5,500 rpm or any rpm if you desire or that the engine can rev up to (6,000 rpm+). In stock form "almost all 700R4's transmissions will shift to the next gear anyways, especially on the 1-2 WOT shift.

So it's okay to shift an auto like a stick? That is, it is okay start in "1" and shift up the console until you get to "D" or "OD"??
