Can I NOT resurface my flywheel?

Ok, I had a stock replacement clutch in and it lasted like 1000 miles before I dumped the clutch and now it barely grabs. I took the tranny out and the flywheel doesn't look that bad. I just got a used centerforce DF, can I just slap it on? Thing is it could take another week b4 I can find another flywheel (already resurfaced mine 4 times). I heard you can use some steel wool on the flywheel, is this true?

As long as it still looks good: No heat checks or suspicious marks/discolorations, you can go ahead and just put it all back up without resurfacing it. With only 1000 miles on it I doubt you'll have any problems.

If there's any glaze on the flywheel and/or pressure plate, a little steel wool won't hurt.

What you can use is the 3M emery grinding wheels for air grinders. The kind that do not remove metal. I forget exactly what they are called, but would make really short work.
