posi...which one....humm...

I have a 10 Bolt rearend in my z28... no posi.. id like to change that. I was kinda thinking just buy an I-roc rearend to get the posi and the rear disc breaks.. but i wouldn't mind just grabbing a posi.

anyone have and idea where to get one?? and which one?

I don't know where to find a "posi", but limited slips were available in a lot of 3rd & 4th gen rear axle assemblies. Check for RPO G80 which is the Limited slip code.

just food for thought, not all IROC's had limited slip and disk brakes. My 85 Iroc is a one wheel wonder with drums

But i did pick up an 89 IROC rear with limited slip and disks, its the 9 bolt borg warner rear with aluminum calipers. From what i have read on this site its about the strongest rear you can put in the car that is a direct swap. 4th gen axles swap in but are a bit longer and require different wheels with a deeper offset.

The Eaton Posi is the best all around limited slip differential for GM cars in my opinion. They last a very long time, they are rebuildable and can be tuned to fit your needs.

i believe the 9 bolt borg warner rears also have 28 spline axles, the same axles as a 4th gen. They are stronger than the 26 spline 10 bolt axles.

I thought i read that on here somewhere but i cant find the particular post, can anyone verify?
