Please help me!

I am deep into my conversion of a 6 cyl automatic to a 350 5 speed. I have a t5 that has a 14 tooth input shaft (6 cyl?) and a 70's 350. The engine is in the car. I have a 153 tooth and a 168 tooth flywheel from NAPA with their clutch kits. The small clutch has a 10 tooth clutch disc. The larger clutch (11") has a 14 tooth clutch disc. I mounted the small flywheel and clutch then tried to put in the trans. After 20 minutes of pushing, prying, etc. I took the trans out and found out it would not fit in the clutch disc. Research at NAPA led to the larger flywheel and clutch out of an Astro that had the required 14 tooth disc. I have read that the 168 tooth flywheel will not fit in the bellhousing. Is this true? If so, how do I find a clutch and flywheel that will mate the 14 tooth t5 with the 350?

I cannot find a starter that will bolt to the block. We have tried several but the starter, when fit into the starter cavity on the bellhousing, does not reach the block. It is about an inch from touching where it bolts up. It is a staggered bolt pattern on the block. I seems as if the starter is rotated down away from the block. If I move the starter up, the solenoid hits the block on the casting above the starter mounting pad.

Can anyone help me to solve these issues?

Thanks.
