700r4 Transmission Differences?

Although i know there were differences between years what about motors? Right now I have an offer for a 700r4 out of a 4.3 V6 truck were the 4.3 L V6 transmissions any different than the V8's 700r4? Ive heard there are some internal differences that made them weaker? Can anyone confirm this?

The bellhousing will be different on V6 vs. V8.

Now on the 4.3 L its a 90 V6 they use the conventional SBC boltpattern. the 2.8s and the 3.1 in camaros and firebirds are a 60 degree v6 and that one does have a different bolt pattern but again the 4.3 has the same bellhouseing as the v8s.

Ooops! My mistake - thought all the V6's had different bellhousings.
