Whining rear end

When driving I hear a high-pitched whining coming from the rear end whenever I put my foot on the gas. Any ideas as to what this is or how much it's gonna cost me in spring? Thanks

do you have a 5 speed? if so a little whinning is normal, but if this is something that has recently come on then it might be expensive. i had the same happen to me, and i had to end up getting a new rear-end. which worked out good in the long run. of sourse you might just have a gasket leak. check the fluid in the rear end

if its an aftermarket gear it can whine. Both of my aftermarket gears whined. I wouldn't worry unless its something that the car didn't do before and has recently started or if it gets worse.
