T-56 cross-member
I ordered a Skulte long tube cross-member because I have a set of dougs long tubes. Finally got a response from spd and was told that its a 4 week wait! This is really gonna slow my progress. I have clearance issue with the ps a-arm. I don't wanna finish the clearance on the a-arm until I get the trans in to see how it will all sit. How is clearance with a Spohn x-member with adj torque arm? I've read that they are noisy. Options?

Re: T-56 cross-member
the spohn arm, or UMI arm, both similar, are not made for LT headers, and will be a real PITA when compared to the one your looking at. The new crossmember sits lower than stock and is not clearanced for exhaust

Good choice with the skulte.
I have a spohn member with DS loop. Its a nice piece, but i wish i knew it would scrape before i bought it.
The angle iron points DOWN so it becomes the lowest part of the car. Where as the skulte member points UP so your frame rails are the lowest point of the car.

The Skulte piece is very nice. I've got one on my car as well. Hope he's not lying when he says 4-weeks. I waited 4 months for mine. If it weren't such a ncie piece I'd have been very, very angry. But I dont think the car would have turned out this well without it.

I hope that there isn't any "lying" going on. I just got my trans yesterday. Is that Skulte piece made from 1" square tube? Online 170, you running long tubes with that Spohn? I'm dropping my Z with an Eibach pro kit. I already have the UMI adjustable LCA's and Panhard bar. Was thinking I need the adjustable torque arm to correct pinion angle? On SPD site, he mentions sending the piece unfinished so guys can weld the UMI or Spohn Torque arm mount to the crossmember. Anybody do this and have some pics?

1bdbrd, any pics of that set up? Is it really necessary to use a tunnel mounted torque arm? I'm making about 450-500 fwhp. Should I worry about the tailhousing on the trans with the stock mounting?

Re: T-56 cross-member
As far as the tq arm, I am really not to big on having it mount on the transmission to begin with. Any time you can have it mounted on the crossmember or tunnel, you have lengthened your transmission life.

Re: T-56 cross-member
I don't have any pictures yet because I just got the transmission bolted up to the motor last night. Didn't have time to cut the shifter hole so I didn't bolt up the crossmember yet. The only thing I am really worried about is the lines for the fuel and brakes but they should be ok.
