Auto to manual conversion

I'm currently contemplating switching from a 700R4 to a Richmond 6-Speed, but I need help in figuring out what all is needed.

Heres what I know I need and have found so far:

Trans
Torque Arm
Driveshaft
Bellhousing
Clutch & Pressure plate
Flywheel

The only things I can't find are the "pedal box" and related items. Any and all help is appreciated

Re: Auto to manual conversion

the pedal assembly is uaually on ebay, sometimes here in the classifieds.

are you using the hydraulic clutch? you will need the master/slave setup as well.

what richmond 6 speed are yo uplanning to use? the retrofit t5 replacement or what? a lt1 style t56 is not a bad idea.

Thanks for the info.

A hydraulic clutch was all I could think of, so thats kinda what I was thinking of going with. What all is required for a hydraulic clutch? This is along the lines of the clutch kit I was thinking of:

The Richmond I'm looking at is the T5 retrofit. I looked at the LT1 T56, but I really like how much closer the gearing on the Richmond is. The Richmond also has the same 6th gear ratio as the T56: .62 to 1.

One quick question about the driveshaft. Since the Richmond is a T5 retrofit, will the T5 driveshaft work?

There is a sticky post at the top of this forum, as well as two tech articles (in the tech articles section of the main website) that should help answer your questions. They apply to the T56 swap but it should be similar enough.

Good luck with the swap!

Thanks for pointing out the tech articles, they really helped explain alot of stuff in the sticky.

I read the sticky and the tech articles and the only two questions I have left are these:

Do I need a hydraulic throwout bearing if I use a hydraulic clutch?
&
Can the T5 driveshaft be reused on the Richmond?

EDIT: Nevermind about the driveshaft. In another thread I read that all you have to do is change the yoke on the transmission end of the driveshaft and you're good to go.

Other than those questions, I now know all the parts I need and have pretty much got a good idea of how to do the swap
