3.42 Gears

Ok, I've decided my Rs needs some gears. I have a stock 305 TBI and an auto. I saw in another post that v6/5-speed cars sometimes had 3.42 posi rears. I assume they meant F-bods so I could just swap rearends. My question is their anyway to tell the ratio short of poppin the cover? Also, are their any other cars/trucks that I should look for these gears in.

What year is your car? If you've got a 91-92 you can get posi and gears too for a decent price.

Its a 91' whats your price? I'm not sure I'll swap in gears. I saw a Trans Am in the junkyard with a disc brake 9-bolt in it. Sadly, it had already been stripped of internals. If I can find another for a reasonable price, I'm gonna swap the whole thing.
