Does this Rebuild sound like a good deal??
A guy here in town is offering a 700R4 rebuild for 525 including:
New 2000 blazer Torque converter (supossedly has a 2000 stall)
Superior shift kit? (i forgot he either said reprogramer kit or shift kit)
I asked about Transgo's but he said he didnt like them.Is SUPERIOR a good shift kit??
Corvette servo Will this shift firm? for and 100 more he will upgrade to a Billet servo
I asked him if he puts more clutches in but he said he didnt like the idea because you have to put thiner clutches and bands in to get more in and said under high heat they will warp like brake rotors.
and a heavier sun... Gear?? Drum?? somthing like that he said they were alot better than stock.
I was referred to him by a guy who is running a 13.7 sec 85 chevy pickup on his 700r4 built by him (he has corvette servo). and has a friend with an elcamino that runs 10.70's on the bottle. with many track and street passes on the tranny also daily driver but the only difference is he has a billet servo.
does anyone think this guy is on crack?? he was a GM tranny guy. and now has his own buisness.
also which is better Corvette servo or Billet servo is the billet servo streetable?? and will it make the transmission able to handle that much more power???

I agree with transfixleo 100% on this one. Take the "so-called" Superior stuff back and FIND someone who is "familiar" with Trans-Go products & their philosophy. There are no exceptions to this if you want it done right.
