Yes, I would like to see what someone has to say about this too. Is it worth paying a shop 3 hours worth of work to swap trannys?

To my knowledge, aftermarket stereo's, speakers, sub-woofers, and amplifiers will NOT make your car faster. As much as I have become attached to my thirdgen, it was only bought out of nescessity after my 1981 ElCamino SS was totaled in a rear-end collision. After nearly two years, I have yet to see a dime from the insurance company. RIP Elky (1981-2000)

The easiest way to get it in is to get 2 long bolts, cut the headss off of them, screw them into the block. They make excellent guide pins. Slide your tranny in on those, put a couple of bolts in, and take the long ones out and put the rest in. Piece of cake.

this is a pain in the *** , but done forget the front end is up and at an angle, so you need to angle the trans up a bit, line up the **** on the block to the holes on the trans and bring it home, the first swap i did took me hours, the 2nd i got it right on the first time, shouldnt be too hard, getting it in with 2 people is really needed
If it will not move any further, then the torque converter has moved forward on the splines and the converter hub is not lined up with the rotor. Take the transmission back down and reinstall the TC correctly, DO NOT FORCE IT, it will break the rotor and possibly other things in the front pump. When the TC & trans are installed correctly you will be able to spin the TC to line up the bolts for TC to flexplate. I repeat DO NOT draw it forward like would with a stick trans, the trans should be flush with the block when you install the case to block bolts.
