T5: Offset shifter block and pin stuck

Hey I'm in the process of rebuilding this t5. As I recall, I have to knock the pin through the offset shifter block (but it doesn't go all the way through) and unbolt the 8 bolts for the tailhousing and slide it off. However, my biggggggest problem that has been driving crazzy is :

why does the offset shifter block not want to slide off?
I already have it neutral. I even tried tilting it a bit towards the rear.
It just doesn't want to slide off. I even tried persuading with two open-end wrenches on the shaft, but no luck.

Should the shifter block slide off easy? Is this a unique problem to my transmission?

Please I could really use help

I've had to unbolt the extention housing and pull it back some before the block would come all the way off of the shaft.

yes I've tried removing the bolts and sliding it off. The offset shifter block will not slide off the shaft even after punching the pin thru and being in neutral. Do you have any ideas? Do you have an extra offset block?

Re: T5: Offset shifter block and pin stuck

So the block is stuck on the shaft and won't move. I guess you have tried using a hammer and punch to tap it off. And I guess you are sure that the pin is all the way out. Is the pin still sticking out the bottom of the block? If it is do you think it might be hitting something and keeping the block from moving? I've had a bunch of these off and I haven't had that much trouble getting them off. I've probably got a few lying around.
