Anyone swap in a Corvette 4+3??

I have a broken T5 and have access to an 80's Corvette 4+3 trans. Anyone try this or know if it'll work in my camaro?

If i were you, i would save it for the corvette guys... This transmission is not exactly smooth and require all kinds of computer inputs for the OD to work. Also the shifter is weird and there is not a mount on it for a crossmember since corvtettes used the torque arm instead. I would pick up this trans and then sell it to someone in the corvette crowd. As for a trans, you could get a new TR3550 from year one for abou $1600 (you'll need a lake wood bell housing and some shifter mods though) but i think thats the better way to go. OF course there is always the T56 route too...

Thanks. If I were going to spend much money, I'd get a T56. With my Dad's GM discount, I can get a new one for $1600! I just wish I could get the hell done with college and have some money!
