like what should i also get for the installation of the posi unit. becuz its a used but maintaned posi unit out of a 1989 formula with the 26 spline axles and its a carrier 2 or 2 carrier how ever it is , will this fit no problem and if it does what else should be dun when gettin it installed. another question where should i go to get this dun becuz i dont have the tools or knownlagement of how to put one in so im not screwin around with it. should i take it to the chevy deal and have them put it in or what any thing is helpful. later

take it to dealer would be a good idea. if all you're doing is changing carriers there isn't much i'd do, maybe new ring gear bolts.i'd use only gm posi additive and synthetic oil.

If you're gonna beat on it, it would be a good idea to replace the crush sleeve with a solid pinion spacer. These are available from Eaton as well as others. An aluminum support cover helps too,Summit has a few different versions available, including their own, for about $135.Many also recommend welding the axle tubes to the housing (all the way around),though, this may be overkill for your application.Other than that,if the bearings and seals are good (complete kit about $100),just a good Synthetic Gear Oil (Redline,Richmond,Etc)I'm using Redline (I think 85W145),and replace the oil after 500 miles of break-in.
