What will a stock rear handle to the wheels and what would a built one handle?

Search the archive. Everyone seems to ask the same questions.

A stock diff will survive better behind an automatic than a standard transmission. Stock diffs have broken behind stock engines.

Follow the article on building up an Ultimate 10-bolt and the diff can survive a lot more.

My 10 bolt is built up and is still surviving in my race car.
