need help quick!

hello... i need a flywheel for my 86 305 irocz. i was wondering what the difference between the one piece main flywheel and the two piece main flywheel were. thanks and also does anyone know where i can get one. thanks

you can get a flywheel pretty much anywhere, a local parts store will have them, but when you go to get make sure you say flywheel if its a manual or flexplate if its an automatic, they are diffrent. the 2 peice was the old style SB and the 1 piece was the new style, i ***think*** 87' was the change over year so your 86' would be a 2 piece but i would get that confirmed forsure. but when you go to get one at the parts store they will give you the right one anyway

Late '85 or early '86 was when the SBC went to one piece seal. You are thinking about the changeover to roller cam, which was '87. His '86 should be a one piece rear seal.

thanks for the help guys... i have called most of the trak auto's and auto zone's and local parts stores... but no one seems to have one. does anyone have any other suggestions?

Go to a junk yard. Just look it over good before you buy it to make sure it's not damaged?
