I having problems with my speedometer reading too fast since I've changed wheels from 245/50/16 to 245/45/17 and also, changed out rear from a 2.73 drum to a 3.23 disc 4th gen. This has threw of my speedo by about 10 mph when at hwy speeds and also has made my tranny shift different. My original speedo gears were T17/T38 and I went to the dealer and they told me that all I needed to change was the speedo gear and they gave a T39 and my speedo is still off. Does anybody have recommendations on what gears I really need for the wheel and rearend setup I have now. I have no good knowledge on gear selections so please make it simple. Thanks

 

Try a 44T driven, 25513051. The 39T would have been right if you had a 15T drive gear.
