How much power can a T-56 handle?

How much power can a T-56 handle?

I am curious to this,i would think 400 hp is pushing it,what do you guys think?

Most of the rating are based on torque numbers. The 93 T56s are rated at 400 lb/ft and the 94 and later t56s are rated at 450lb/ft. From what I've heard of those are conservative numbers.

I have 4thgen customers running over 700 horse through the T-56. They hold up to alot of abuse.

Hey Steve,are these stock T-56s,i hear the ones in the LS1 cars can take alot more abuse then the LT1 6 speeds.

Now where did you hear that?

The LS1 6-speeds are WEAKER than the LT1 models, simply because quality has gone down. Borg Warner sold the T56 tooling to Tremec, who has moved it all to Mexico.
