I current have a 1991 z28 camaro convertible the car originally came with the typical 305 the prior owner swapped that engine out for a zz4 350 tpi . Latley i been having problems with getting the car to shift into other gears via the shift lever but was able to shift into other gears manually from underneath the car. I replaced the shift cable how ever problem persists.So i came to the final conclusion of ***** to the wall fixing this problem now it comes down to the main question weather to keep the 700 r or upgrade to a better transmission capable of handling 300+ horses. I dont know much about transmissions so if revamping athe 700 r is the way to go a preformance grade parts list would be awesome.

To be honest i never rebuilt a transmission before so i dont really know how hard it would be im very mechanical so im sure ill be able to handle the process with the help of a few pubs ..... as for the kits im looking for one that i can feel confindent with racing with but also still be able to use the car as a cruising car . Talking with some of the guys in my shop its come down to a good torqe converter , a transmission cooler, a tight shift , and one of my buddys who had a ***** was talking abt freezing the gears for a tight shift i have no clue on transmissions so any help would be awesome
