Hard Shift

I have a '92 RS (700R4) w/ 113K on it. When I'm sitting in park at idle (even after it has dropped out of fast idle) if I shift directly into 2nd it is a REALLY hard shift and she wants to lurch forward even with my foot on the brake. The trans fluid is at the right level. I know this can't be normal because my brother's '88 IROC does not do this. Is this a sign of a bigger problem? Any ideas?

Anyone? Could this be that the TV Cable is too short?

Does this happen when you put it into "D" or "OD" position?

My 700r4 does the same thing. I always assumed it was the small shift kit I had put in combined with the idle RPMs. (750)

It shifts REAL hard from neutral to drive or OD, and almost as hard from park to drive or OD. I have to drop it into reverse, then quickly slip it into drive or OD to lessen the slam. There is also a substantial lurch when i drop it from OD into drive starting around 20+ mph. That can't be good for my U-joints.

Is this shift kit design, or did they build something incorrectly in my tranny?
