question about getting the govener back in

question about getting the govener back in

i pulled the govener out to replace the gear because it broke.I got the gear on good.I just cant figure out how to get the govener back in.My car is off the ground in neutral.plez help im in a hurry to get this done tonight...thanx

do I pull the shaft or is there a way to push the govoner back in while the someone turns the wheels?IM new at this so i kinda new some advice.thanx

It should kinda "twist" in place.

it twist a little bit but not enough to get in all the way, cap wont go on.im scared to twist to hard because im not sure if it is supost to be that hard to get in

You put a similar gear on correct? You can try putting the tranny in Neutral and turning the driveshaft.
