uh-oh...
a little while ago, i bought a 85 trans am as a project car. didnt run so i have never driven it. yesterday i yanked the engine and tranny, and while i was disconnecting the driveshaft at the rear end, i decided to spin the tires by hand to see if i had posi. and thats where my worries started. i spun the pass. side tire about 6-8 times before the drvr side tire spun. the driveshaft was turning, so i dont know what to think. any ideas?
also, were all 9 bolt rears posi? (stupid question, i know, but i dont know too much ab borg warner stuff)

Sounds like the posi is wore out. As far as I know I think that all 9 bolt's were posi. There is a tech article on how to rebuild or make the posi tighter in the tech article section. Hope this helps.
