I have a question. The stock shifter **** is broken in my 84. (auto) It looks like the button is what hold the **** on the shaft. On the underside of the button, there are two metal tabs that hook into a plastic, square-shaped "loop" that is in the shaft. It is the "loop" that is broken. Is there any way to fix this, or would I have to replace the entire shaft?
