messed 2-4 band
messed 2-4 band
i installed a billet servo in my car but then all of the sudden i lost 2nd and forth gear. i am assumming i broke a hole in my 2-4 band b/c of the overkill servo but i am not sure. i sent back the billet for just a corvette servo. it has taken about 3-4 weeks for all the shipping and stuff but i needed my car so i have been driving it kinda alot with only first and third gear. You think this is a VERY bad thing. i dont drive it hard but i porbably drive at least like 5 miles a day. am i seriously messing up some thing....i have not felt any changes still runs fine.
i just took it to a shop ad he wanted AT LEAST $997 to fix. he said he would not just replace the 2-4 band but all the other bands , clutches...etc i guss it is good in a sense but thats a lot of money.i know most of it is labor but any one think i am getting ripped. only Band and clutche rebuild kit nothin else.

Hey Pimp,
If $997 was your quote, I'd say the hell with the shop and
get a Raptor or Probuilt. If they replace just the 2-4 band and other components fail later, you will wish you would have gone
through the entire tranny. Just some input for ya. Good Luck

PimpCamaroRS: Sure you didn't have any of the seals misplaced when you installed the pistons?
Really cant understand how the servo can "puncture" a band in so short time.
Another possibility might be that you got to small clearance and burned the band. Did you try to wiggle the band after installation of the servo?
BTW: What does "billet" means?
