on my 92 formula i have had for a little over a month it has never shifted right... it would not get over 4000 rpm and thats in 3rd unless i manually shift it and it would shift into o/d at about 35 mph and pull all the way up to 70 it also wouldnt downshift to anything less then 3rd going 35. so i tried adjusting the cable both up and down to see if it would help and now its worse it wont get over 3200 in any gear and it still will not kick down and once it gets into o/d it just pulls i feel the converter lock up before it hits o/d as well... what can i do to fix this any help is great...

so i tried to adjust the tv cable and it made the trans go wacko!!! i did it as instructed and it would wind out to about 4500 then slam into 2nd and so on had to do 80 to hit o/d... so slowly adjusted back to what it was and same thig until it was just shifting too early and not kicking down or anythingright now its back to as before but it still wont drop to 2nd and barely hits 3rd and if it adjust it out 1 groove it will wind out to about 200 and shift into 2nd for normal driving it does shift later for 3 and od but jsut too hard ... also it would slam into gear from park and chirp the tires ... can i be missing something?...please help
