helo i need to know before i move on to the project i have a 87 trans am tpi with manula transmission and ive been thinking for a while in swaping a vortec5.7 engine and posiibly puting a 75-100 shot nitrous will the tranny hold or is there any alternative tranny that will that wont be to costly what about the rear end im triying to stick with manual tranny. thanks

 

It will hold if you drive it gently...and 100 shot doesn't fall under "gently".

 

You should consider a T56 swap. Will run you about $2000, but you can offset that cost by selling your T5 setup. I got about $500 for my trans which brought the T56 cost down considerably.
