How can I determine the year of a 700R4? I'm looking for a later model with the aux valve body but am not sure how to tell the build date with the tranny out of the car.

 

Hi i am a rebuilder, that specializes in 700R4/4L60E transmissions. The best way to tell a AUX from a NON-AUX is that the AUX 700 will have a 7-8 digit casting number on the case right above the pan area, behind the manual linage shaft, compared to the NON-AUX that will not have any casting numbers there at all.
