Re: 700r4 or th350????

If a manual is not an option, definitely go with the 700R4, I've seen a lot more used in drag racing, and from the looks of the after market, there's a lot more people involved with building 700's.

Plus the overdrive isn't too bad either..

Neither of the transmissions necessarily have "cons". They're both nice and strong automatics, capable of being built to handle monstrous amounts of power.

Heck if it was my car, T-56 all the way. I personally can't wait to get rid of my 700R4, automatics are just too boring, it's nice to grab some gears once in a while.

Horrible transmissions, atleast in every truck I ever drove that was a 4 speed Muncie it was grind 'em to find 'em.
If it's a stock motor and you are set on using a manual, just use the T5.

I think the TH350 is a stronger trans from the factory, but my heart is set on the 700R4s, and like the person above me said their is enough of a community backing them to make them just as strong if not stronger then the TH350. I would personally use the 700R4, the gearing is a little better and you have overdrive.

Would need a different cross member and drive shaft for the TH350. OD is nice to have in case you decide to go anywhere with it and has the lower 1st gear.
