Hello all. Lets start this with i am new to the site. i use Z28.com alot but they said you guys might be more of a help. i currently have a 1984 Z28 350, ho heads, ect. but i have a friend selling a 406 with 740 hp. now this is what i am wondering what is a good tran that will fit up to it that will handle the hp i was looking to maybe use a t56 i currently have a 350 turbo. with about 4k of work in it. Paperwork stating it will hope 500hp but i have a little more than that. So any info would help alot. Thanks

 

I would use a th400 or a 4l80e. What do you have for a rearend? hopefully not the stock 10 bolt. It will need to be aftermarket 9in or 12 bolt with that much hp.

 

i want to say i have a 80's 12bolt out of a firebird. i put a 373 pozi gears in it.
