removing the Transmission

I have an 86 camaro with just the V6 2.8L manual transmission. I was told today that I had a rear main seal leak. Do I have to pull the engine to replace this seal?

Re: removing the Transmission

No. you would have to drop the pan though i think and of course take the transmission out. but the engine can stay in. since its in the back of the engine. and no need to pull it out. just as long as you have room to get to it.
