T56 griding when clutch is in
Well, i am dumbfounded. The car would not start, or push start, then i found that it would start if the clutch was not to the floor. I had my buddy tell me his T56 in the 95 Z28 did the same thing so he shimmed the slave out. I shimmed mine as far as possible and it still does it. I can shift at half clutch or so, but more than 3/4 it makes a grinding/clicking noise.
Was worse before shimming, but the clutch and pressure plate are brand new. It is in my 89 RS. This trans shifts perfect, like butta. Got the trans for 300$, but i use my old bellhousing that works fine..
Any idea would help.

Is this a straight LT1 T56 conversion, or a T5-bell+adaptor? What Clutch/PP are you running?

It is a all LT1 conversion, stock replacement clutch and PP from Fort Wayne clutch.
I am using the 3rd gen pedals, didnt think it would give it cause to make noise.

Re: T56 griding when clutch is in
My car was doing the same thing. Not as bad (I was able to start it with the clutch in all the way...barely) but the same type of thing. It's pulling the pressure plate too far making the pressure plate hit and rub against something. I shortened the master cylinder rod and now it's perfect. How to do it is near the end of the t56 swap sticky.
